[Workrave-user] Workrave on different computers

Hi All,

I was wondering if someone might be able to help me with something as I cannot find any instructions. I am currently using workrave on my computer and would like to be able to have workrave throughout the hospital that I am working at.

Firstly, I was wondering if I have to install workrave individually on every computer at the hospital?
Secondly, I was wondering if there is a way that I can control all of the preferences for workrave users throughout the hospital? - I want to be able to have the preferences set so that people are not able to turn off the rest breaks/daily limits.

Any help would be appreciated!

I put together a manual a number of years ago and released it to the community. I will have to find a copy and send it to you. I have also information on research that I did when employed with the government.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for getting back to me. I would highly appreciate if you were able to send this whenever you are able to find it. I have found a few Youtube videos that have helped with general set up of the program but unfortunately the information is limited. Anything further you are able to provide would definitely help out a lot.

Hi Andrew,

Workrave is not for everyone. For some people, the constant
interruptions lead to frustration and stress, and hence a higher risk of
injury. Hence I think it is not right to force workrave upon people (as
your mail suggests you want to do).

Additionally, "correct" settings tend to be different from person to
person. If you force one set of settings upon everyone, you'd be doing
most of them a disservice.

So to answer your questions: It is currently not possible (to the best
of my knowledge) for you to control all settings. Nor is this a feature
that is planned for the near future. Central installation should be
possible. I do not know the details, but various IT departments have
various ways of installing stuff on peoples computers, and Workrave is
just a regular program. Your IT department should be able to help you out.
